A maintained-load or constant-rate-of-penetration axial compressive load test applied directly to a deep foundation element, per ASTM D1143/D1143M or EN ISO 22477-1 (or their national equivalents). ASTM D1143 names seven loading procedures (Quick Test, Maintained Test, Loading in Excess of Maintained Test, Constant Time Interval, Constant Rate of Penetration, Constant Movement Increment, Cyclic Loading); EN ISO 22477-1 covers only the maintained-load family and excludes the constant-rate-of-penetration and cyclic variants.
