An object that describes the specification or method used for testing orconstruction, by citing a published standard or a clause of one: an ASTM or AASHTOmethod, a national standard, a project specification clause. Its properties identifythe document rather than state requirements: standardReferenceNumber, standardTitle, standardVersion, standardPart, standardClause and the accrediting body. Not to beconfused with diggs:AbstractProgramSpecification. diggs:Specification is a componentobject, a procedure that substitutes diggs:AbstractProcedure, held bydiggs:SpecificationPropertyType wherever a feature says which method it followed; itstates no requirement of its own, because the requirement lives in the citeddocument. diggs:AbstractProgramSpecification is a feature head whose members arefeatures a program issues, carrying the tolerances and acceptance limits the work isjudged against and the scope over which they apply; a realized feature cites onethrough diggs:programSpecificationRef. If it was published by a standards body orwritten into a contract and you are pointing at it, use diggs:Specification; if yourprogram is issuing the requirement itself, use a member ofdiggs:AbstractProgramSpecification.
Database handle for the object. It is of XML type ID, so is constrained to beunique in the XML document within which it occurs. An external identifier for the object inthe form of a URI may be constructed using standard XML and XPointer methods. This is doneby concatenating the URI for the document, a fragment separator, and the value of the idattribute.
