An aggregate abrasion value (AAV) test procedure, a measure of the resistance ofaggregate to surface wear by abrasion. Two specimens are pressed, with a force of0.365 newtons per square centimeter, against the surface of a steel disc rotating ina horizontal plane, with sand fed by hoppers as the abrasive. After 500 discrevolutions the abrasion is measured as the mass loss of the aggregate. Thepercentage loss in mass of the chippings is the AAV, which ranges from about 1 forhard flints to over 16 for aggregates normally considered too soft for use in roadsurfacings.
Database handle for the object. It is of XML type ID, so is constrained to beunique in the XML document within which it occurs. An external identifier for the object inthe form of a URI may be constructed using standard XML and XPointer methods. This is doneby concatenating the URI for the document, a fragment separator, and the value of the idattribute.
