The parameters that define a lateral offset from the centerline of a linear element:the perpendicular distance from the centerline, positive on the side given byoffsetDirection and negative on the other. Its presence in a linear referencingmethod makes the method two-dimensional. Examples are the swaths of side-scan sonaror sub-bottom profilers on a vessel trackline, offset soil sampling along a surveytransect, and monitoring points parallel to a pipeline.
Database handle for the object. It is of XML type ID, so is constrained to beunique in the XML document within which it occurs. An external identifier for the object inthe form of a URI may be constructed using standard XML and XPointer methods. This is doneby concatenating the URI for the document, a fragment separator, and the value of the idattribute.
