An object describing a consolidation test procedure. This test isperformed to determine the magnitude and rate of volume decrease that a laterallyconfined soil specimen undergoes when subjected to different vertical pressures. From the measured data, the consolidation curve (pressure-void ratio relationship)can be plotted. This data is useful in determining the compression index (slope ofvirgin curve), the recompression index (slope of recompression curve) and thepreconsolidation pressure (or maximum past pressure) of the soil. In addition, thedata obtained can also be used to determine the coefficient of consolidation and thecoefficient of secondary compression of the soil.
Database handle for the object. It is of XML type ID, so is constrained to beunique in the XML document within which it occurs. An external identifier for the object inthe form of a URI may be constructed using standard XML and XPointer methods. This is doneby concatenating the URI for the document, a fragment separator, and the value of the idattribute.
